About the Role
We are currently seeking a Pipefitter Welder to join our team down in Austin, TX. This role is responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and mechanical equipment used in industrial applications, while adhering to all codes, safety standards, and project documentation.
Requirements
Essential Duties
Assemble pipe sections, tubing, and fittings using appropriate tools and techniques (e.g., couplings, clamps, threading, soldering, brazing, welding, solvents, and adhesives).
Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, hangers, instruments, and devices such as steam traps, regulators, and heat exchangers.
Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, specifications to take measurements, perform layout, and ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.
Perform rigging and safely move equipment and piping as needed.
Conduct nondestructive and hydrostatic testing on piping systems.
Operate heavy equipment and machinery to complete job tasks.
Work safely with hazardous materials, at heights, and in confined spaces.
Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record per company policy.
Consistently demonstrate safe work practices, reliability, and punctuality.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Exposure to outdoor weather, loud noise, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials.
Work at elevated heights (ladders, scaffolds, rooftops) and within confined spaces.
Perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks, including climbing, lifting, reaching, bending, and carrying materials.
Adapt to shifting priorities while maintaining focus and attention to detail.
Overtime, weekend and travel possible.
Safety Sensitive
This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring continuous alertness while operating or monitoring heavy equipment and working with hazardous materials, at heights, or in confined spaces. A lapse in attention could result in serious injury or harm.
Skills & Competencies
High school diploma or GED (preferred).
Minimum 3 years of industrial or related experience, and field fabrication is a PLUS.
Strong mechanical, mathematical, and technical aptitude.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, and job site drawings.
Knowledge of machines, tools, repair, and maintenance.
Must provide and maintain the required tool inventory for the role.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
Clear and effective communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal rework.
Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and travel, as needed.
Valid driver’s license or government-issued ID required.
